THUNDER BAY, ON   --------    April 20, 2009 --------- The Bank of Montreal overnight moved out of Victoriaville in the Fort William Business District and into their new Harbour Crossing branch located at 859 Fort William Road. .

 Some Fort William Business District store owners believe one of the reasons that the Bank of Montreal moved was the role the Parking Authority plays in ticketing Thunder Bay residents when they shop in any of our local core shopping areas. The building of the proposed  new court house with in a block of their former location did not stop the BMO from leaving the Victoriaville Centre.

Fort William Business Distict still has a Bank of Nova Scotia, CIBC, RBC, and Superior Credit Union to service the the over 400 business in the area and numerous senior citizens

    BMO says the new Harbour Crossing branch features ample free parking, two Instabank machines for everyday financial transactions, and a drive-thru ABM. The ABMs are equipped with audio feature providing enhanced functionality for visually impaired customers to independently manage their financial affairs.

   The branch also offers longer hours and will operate from:
    Monday to Wednesday           9:30 a.m. to  5:00 p.m.
    Thursday                      9:30 a.m. to  7:00 p.m.
    Friday                        9:30 a.m. to  5:00 p.m.
    Saturday                      9:00 a.m. to  4:00 p.m.

   The branch features expanded services, longer hours and more staff to better serve the community
