OTTAWA, Dec. 19 - The Government of Canada has amended the Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations to make it easier for Canadians to import vehicles from the United States built on or after September 1, 2007, that are already equipped with an electronic immobilization system or that can be fitted with one. "Our government remains committed to ensuring the safety of Canadians on our roads and highways," said the Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities. With the Canadian Dollar at par and climbing Canadian's are heading south to shop.  During the Thanksgiving weekend the Canadian Tax man took in 476 per cent more compared to the 2006 Thanksgiving weekend. AT the Pigeon River, the taxman's revenue increased 117 per cent over last year with a peak on the Sunday of 342 per cent more collected compared to last year.
