THUNDER BAY, ON.  -  August 21, 2008  -  Maple Leaf Consumer Foods and the Maple Leaf FoodCanadian Food Inspection Agency are voluntarily expanding a recall of certain ready-to-eat packaged meat products and are warning people not to serve or consume the products as they may contain Listeria monocytogenes.

Beef Recall

THUNDER BAY ON. - Aug 9, 2008 - 31 cases in 12 states and Canada have been Beef Recallidentified in the investigation. Approximately 1.2 million pounds of primal cuts, subprimal cuts and boxed beef that may be contaminated.

North York, ON, - THUNDER BAY, ON, - March 28, 2008 - The recall applies to the specified products sold only in Canada with a Best Before date up to and including 09 AU 31. The affected products may contain small pieces of plastic packaging material in the Tic Tac container. This product has been distributed nationally. Plush Rocker Toys Recalled Due to Fall Hazard

WASHINGTON, D.C. - March 27, 2008 -  This recall involves Rock ‘N Ride plush rocker toys sold in eight Rock ‘N Ride Plush Rocker models: brown pony, pink pony, pink unicorn, deluxe pony, deluxe bull, lil’ penguin, lil’ propeller plane and Clifford big red rocker. The toys have molded plastic rocker bases and were sold for children at least 18 months old and up to 65 lbs. A button on the toy’s ear, hat or dash activates songs and phrases when pressed. Rockers included in this recall have a date code from July 26, 2007 through December 29, 2007. The date codes are printed on a sticker inside the battery compartment.  Reebok to Pay Record $1,000,000 Civil Penalty

WASHINGTON D.C. -  THUNDER BAY, ON,  - RECALLS  ~  March 19, 2008 ~ The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Reebok chair recalledCommission (CPSC) announced today that a manufacturer of athletic shoes and apparel has agreed to pay the government a $1,000,000 civil penalty (pdf). This penalty, which has been provisionally accepted, is the largest for a Federal Hazardous Substances Act (FHSA) violation and follows a recall announced by CPSC and Reebok of 300,000 bracelets.

The penalty settles allegations that Reebok International Ltd., of Canton, Mass., imported and distributed charm bracelets that contained toxic levels of lead. The charm bracelets were provided as free gifts with the purchase of various styles of children’s footwear. In March 2006, a 4-year-old boy from Minneapolis who swallowed the bracelet’s heart-shaped pendant died. Lake Superior News Recalls read more.....>

Japanese government investigation iPod nano

THUNDER BAY, ON ~ March 13, 2008 ~ The Japanese government has launched an investigation into why an iPod ipod nanonano overheated and sent out sparks while being recharged. The Japanese government said Wednesday that an investigation was underway into why an Apple iPod nano overheated and sent out sparks while being recharged.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - March 5, 2008 ~ .The recalled Infantino Lamb Grabby Rattles™ are  Infantino Lamb Grabby Rattlesshaped like a lamb with an Infantino elliptical-shaped logo stamped on the front right foot of the lamb. Only rattles with date code 0907 printed on the back of the left ear of the lamb are included in the recall. The production batch code is printed in a dial format with the year in the middle of a circle and an arrow pointing to the number on the circle that indicates the month.  143 million pounds Beef recalled

February 17, 2008  ~ WASHINGTON  ~  The Calif.  beef was used in some school lunch program across the country. The recall by the Westland/Hallmark Meat Company, based in Chino, Calif., comes after a widening animal-abuse scandal that started after the Humane Society of the United States distributed an undercover video on Jan. 30 that showed workers kicking sick cows and using forklifts to force them to walk.  read more.....>

January,  28, 2008 ~  TORONTO ~  Zellers announced today that it is recalling a 2-piece infant sleeper and booties with buttons painted using lead paint.

The 2-piece sets were sold at Zellers stores across Canada from January 2008 at a price of $12.97. There have been no reports of any injuries. Zellers is taking all precautions to ensure that no injuries occur.  read more ....>

December 3, 2007 Washington U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled Old  Navy Recalls Boys' Jackets;with  drawstring at waist which poses Entrapment Hazard.

CPSC was notified about these garments by the Wisconsin Department of Consumer Protection. about this product.
The CPSC press release states, "Consumers choosing to keep the jacket should immediately remove the drawstring to eliminate the hazard. Visit
