On September 25th we were witness to one of the greatest moments in gaming history. With millions of people coming together for one purpose.. to PWN NOOBS. Halo 3 has debuted people, and the masses are talking about it.
With over one million people logging into Xbox Live in the first day after the game’s release, it’s probably the largest release of a video game ever. Making just over $170 million dollars in the U.S. alone, Halo 3’s release has come close to even the biggest blockbusters of the summer in revenue.
The line-ups in Thunder Bay began some time around 8pm on Monday and even earlier at some other stores. An insider told me that EB Games in the Thunder Center in Thunder Bay had over 200 pre-orders and everyone was looking to get their copy at midnight.
The game is on track to becoming the number one selling game of all time in a hurry and hopefully this trend will continue and the video game industry will keep having large releases like this one.
